LeRoc has its roots in the "Jitterbug" which was taught to French nationals during the Second World War.  The story says that after the Second World War the "Jitterbug" began to fade in popularity, but the French continued on partner dancing and developed their own form of "Jive" (Le Bop).  Eventually with French nationals moving to London "Le Bop" became popular within the French community.  The dance form then progressed into LeRoc and to this day is still progressing at a fantastic rate.  Only recently has the dance been recognised as a dance form in its own right by the United Kingdom Alliance of Professional Dance Teachers.  LeRoc has its own independent governing body in the LeRoc Federation, which aims to set standards for anyone professing to teach LeRoc.  The dance is not a passing craze, it has gradually built up momentum over the last twenty years, and is continuing to do so.  Anyone who partakes in the art of LeRoc in partaking in making history, as the dance continues to improve and evolve into the most popular dance the world has ever seen.  (LeRoc is at present spreading around the world and in time will be a globally recognised dance form).  LeRoc also has the ability for being a great social barrier-breaker as everyone has the opportunity to partake or spectate, class does not dictate.  So why not give LeRoc a go and be a part of history.  LeRoc can also be used to dance to the latest Latino dance craze.  LeRoc is a very versatile form of dance.
